Maricopa County parks have much to offer - from barrier free hiking - to horseback riding - to moonlight hiking groups to petroglyph trails - visitor centers are chock full of information. The parks total around 120,000 acres - so you see there is more than likely something for everyone. There is also an annual pass available as well as a day use pass. All of these parks are featured on the comprehensive Maricopa Parks website.
You can also sign up for email subscriptions to all kinds of great information and events.
Schedule of events, wildflower blooming information (a MUST see!) outdoor activity sections and more! In fact, there is so much great information set up in such a user friendly format, that we have decided to link directly to each park in the chart above.
Also, there are volunteer hosting opportunities at the White Tank Mountain Park - and when visiting the Lake Pleasant park, you are very likely to see protected wild burros. |
